1) As the sun gets lower, the shadows get more fun. That's what happens in the hallways of the WCCB late in the day. These diagonal lines break up the converging lines leading one down the hallway.


2) The strong horizontal line dramatically divides the frame, only to be broken up by the subject and small vertical lines. These shots in tight spaces with dramatic lining have always intrigued me. Using the wall as a bounce, the light on the subject feels unnerving and unnatural.


3) The horizontal lines created by the door frames and windows help the photo feel calm and match the late night, tired energy of the subject. Further, the large negative space in the bottom right corner keeps the photo from becoming overly excited. These muted tones are complimented by the calm lines.
